The Discussion Forum “European Union in a Polycentric World” held the Seminar “Europe and Trump: Dilemmas of Partnership”.

The Seminar will be held on April 14 (Monday), 2025, at 16:00-18:00 in the conference hall of IMEMO (3rd floor) at 23, Profsoyuznaya Str. 

Presentations were made by:

  • o    Vladimir Baranovsky, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dr. of Science (History), Professor, Head of the Center for Situation Analysis of IMEMO
  • o    Pavel Palazhchenko, Americanist, Diplomat, Translator, Head of the Department of International Relations and Press Office of the Gorbachev Foundation
  • o    Alexey Portanskiy, Leading Researcher of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Economics)

The working language is Russian. 


The aim of the project "European Union in a Polycentric World", launched by the Department for European Political Studies of IMEMO in March 2023, is to discuss the political processes of European integration and analyze the most acute problems in the relationship between Russia and the European Union. The discussion forum is aimed at exploring the role of the EU in the international system and its relations with the main centers of power, as well as at studying changes in the political, economic and social life of European countries and searching for opportunities for interaction between Russia and the EU in the foreseeable future.
