There was held the seminar “The expert dialogue on the future of Russia-Germany relations after the Bundestag elections”, organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists.
During the meeting Head of the Department for European Political Studies of the IMEMO Nadezhda Konstantinovna Arbatova and Senior Research Fellow for the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) Sabine Fischer raised an issue of the EU's lack of a unified strategy towards Russia.
Senior Research Fellow for the IMEMO Feodor Alexeevich Basov and Head of the Program International Order and Democracy of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) Dr. Stefan Meister discussed the impact of the outcomes of the Bundestag elections on the future of the Russia-Germany interaction as well as the challenging issues of the relations between the two countries.
Senior Researcher for the IMEMO Ekaterina Vladimirovna Romanova and Head of the project “Geopolitics of Energy Transformation - H2”, Member of the National Council on Hydrogen Issues, Senior Researcher for the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) Kirsten Westphal presented the analysis of the economic cooperation and of the prospects for the joint energy projects between Russia and Germany during the third section of the meeting. Special attention was paid to the possibility of cooperation between the two countries on hydrogen issues.
