57On November 7, 2022 at 11:00 am the Sixth Scientific-Practical Seminar organized by the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Sciences together with the Russian International Affairs Council and the journal "World Economy and International Relations" will take place. The theme of the seminar was "The Economic Direction of the Development of Eurasian Integration: Obstacles and Ways to Overcome Them”.
In the context of the breakdown in relations with the West, the development of the Eurasian direction of foreign policy is becoming imperative for Russia. The key format of interaction with partners in the region is the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), but the development of integration faces the need to overcome not only new external challenges, but also accumulated internal problems.
How has Eurasian economic integration developed in 2022? What internal obstacles does the EAEU need to overcome? How have Western sanctions affected the development of the organization, and what is the future of infrastructure projects in Eurasia?
These and other questions will be discussed by leading experts from RIAC and IMEMO within the framework of the sixth joint seminar.

The Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences together with the Russian International Affairs Council and the journal "World Economy and International Relations" continue the series of scientific-practical seminars devoted to the research of current problems of international relations.
The objectives of the seminars include studying of the best research practices, sharing experience in the application of empirical methods and fundamental theories, discussing current topics on the global political agenda that are of fundamental importance for international security and international relations, as well as the preparation of scientific articles on these issues. The seminars closely link specific problems of the world economy and politics with research questions. The publications of the “ME & MO” journal or promising research that can be reflected in the pages of the journal become the material for discussion.
