The Center for Comparative Socio-Economic and Socio-Political Studies held a workshop within the framework of an on-going seminar dedicated to the analysis of political, social and cultural transformations in the contemporary world.
The current series is dedicated to social and political change in Western and non-Western democracies. The workshop was dedicated to the analysis of Swedish politics, economy and society.
Dr. Igor Grishin focused on the evolution of the Swedish social democratic model and on its legacy. Dr. Alexei Volkov commented on the economic situation during the crisis and post crisis years.
Dr. Natalia Plevako (Institute of Europe, RAS) spoke on the immigration problem and its implications for Swedish society, and on the characteristics of the Swedish social model.
Dr. Konstantin Voronov dwelt on the influence of external factors on home politics and on the challenges of deindustrialization for national security.
