Russian-Japanese Symposium

A joint Russo-Japanese symposium was held in IMEMO jointly with the Tokyo-based Council on National Security Problems (ANPOKEN). The symposium continued the tradition of regular meetings of Russian and Japanese experts to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries against the background of developments in the Pacific Asia. Discussions at the symposium focused on international relations in the region and Russia-Japan cooperation on security and economic issues, as well as on prospects of resolving political problems in bilateral relations.
