Russian edition of the SIPRI Yearbook 2018

IMEMO presented the Russian edition of the SIPRI Yearbook 2018: “Armaments, Disarmament and International Security”, including the Special Supplement of IMEMO.

The Russian edition of the SIPRI Yearbook 2018 presented at the event was prepared within the framework of a joint Project between Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO), and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

The event was started off by Academician Alexey Arbatov, Head of the Center for International Security (CIS), IMEMO, who conveyed congratulations to the audience on completion of the latest stage of the Project, on behalf of the President of IMEMO, Academician Alexander Dynkin, who could not attend the event. Director of IMEMO, Corresponding Member of RAS Feodor Voitolovsky addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. The importance of the joint Project was recounted by Academician Vladimir Baranovsky, Head of Research of the Center for Situational Analysis, IMEMO. Specific aspects of the work were highlighted by Head of the Section of Military-Political Analysis and Research Projects of the CIS, Project Coordinator Sergey Oznobishchev

The presentation of the publication aroused great interest, having gathered nearly 80 representatives of subject ministries and departments, foreign embassies, institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences, independent research centers and the media.
