Round table between the Center for Asia Pacific Studies staff and the group of scholars of Institute of Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) was held in IMEMO on December 12, 2016. 

Deputy Director of IMEMO, Academician Vasily Mikheev, Head of Section of Economy and Politics of China Sergey Lukonin and junior researcher of IMEMO Sergei Ignatev attended the meeting. The group of Chinese scholars was headed by Professor Xu Wenhong.

The meeting was held as part of realization of the Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation`s grant ¹ 15-27-21002 “Factor of Eastern Europe and Russia in the implementation of China's "Silk Road Economic Belt" megastrategy”.

During the meeting participants discussed topical issues of cooperation between Russia, China and Eastern Europe countries under the impact of China's "Silk Road Economic Belt" megastrategy”. Russian and Chinese participants agreed to develop cooperation between IMEMO and CASS.
