Center of the Indo-Pacific Region arranged a round table “Lessons from Pakistan-India May 2025 Crisis”, hosting Advisor for Arms Control, Disarmament Affairs and Strategic Communication at Pakistan’s Strategic Plans Division (SPD) Dr Brig (R) Zahir Kazmi accompanied by President of Global Peace Strategy Forum Dr Atia Ali Kazmi. IMEMO was represented by Director Feodor Voitolovsky and researchers from Center of the Indo-Pacific Region, Center for International Security, Center for Development and Modernization, Department for European Political Studies.

Zahir Kazmi delivered a presentation, explaining Pakistani perspective with regards to recent crisis on the subcontinent and highlighting its importance for strategic stability in South Asia. During the discussion participants covered the issues of forging nuclear doctrines and reactions to crossing nuclear threshold, effectiveness of current confidence-building measures between India and Pakistan, recent changes in Pakistan’s military planning.
