Russian-Belarusian Expert Online Conference “Transformation of Eurasian Transport and Logistics Networks of in the Context of the Interests of the Union State”

On April 5, 2024, a Russian-Belarusian Expert Online Conference “Transformation of Eurasian Transport and Logistics Networks of in the Context of the Interests of the Union State”, organized by IMEMO and the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies (BISS) was held.

Purpose of the event: discussion of the state and dynamics of transport and logistics processes in the Eurasian space, prospects and opportunities of Eurasian transport corridors.

Participants discussed the following issues:

  • Current state of the Eurasian transport and logistics system: political and economic aspects.
  • Prospects of the North-South ITC.
  • Positions of regional players on the development of new transport and logistics routes.
  • The factor of sanctions in reformatting of Eurasian transport corridors.

Moderators:

Olga Lazorkina – Head of the Department of post-Soviet Countries of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies;

Eduard Solovyev – Head of the Center for post-Soviet Studies of IMEMO.

From the Russian side, the employees of IMEMO made presentations: Head of the Center for post-Soviet Studies Eduard Solovyev, Head of the Center for Industrial and Investment Studies Vladimir Varnavskiy, Head of the Sector Stanislav Pritchin, Head of the Sector Elena Kuzmina, Chief Research Fellow Dina Malysheva, Lead Researcher Azganush Migranyan and Senior Researcher Igor Krishtal.

The Belarusian side was represented by BISS employees: Head of the Department Olga Lazorkina, Head of the Department Anton Dudarenok, Advisor Sergei Tomashov, as well as Dean of the Faculty of Transportation Processes Management of Belarusian State University of Transport Natalia Kekish.
