SERGEY MIKHAILOVICH ROGOV (1948-2025)

Academician Sergey Mikhailovich Rogov, Scientific Director of the Institute for the US and Canada Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISKRAN), an outstanding political scientist and Americanist, an expert in the field of US foreign policy, international security and arms control, passed away at the age of 76.

Sergey Mikhailovich Rogov was not only a brilliant researcher and analyst, but also a master of “track two” negotiations – a participant in international expert consultations on the most acute military and political problems. Sergey Mikhailovich Rogov did a lot for the development of Russian American studies and formed a strong scientific school. Being the Director and then the Scientific Director of ISKRAN, he collaborated extensively with IMEMO, actively participated in the work of the Department of Global Problems and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Directorate and staff of IMEMO express their deep condolences to the relatives of Sergey Mikhailovich and our comrades from ISKRAN.
