On May 15, 2024 at 14:00 at Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) the presentation of the first issue of the annual publication "Strategic Review" will take place.

The project was implemented jointly with the MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation within the framework of the strategic project "Global Research for Global Russia" of the "Priority 2030" program. The executive editor of the “Strategic Review” is Academician Alexey Arbatov, Head of the Center for International Security of IMEMO, Dr. of Science (History).

The changes in the world order dynamically unfolding before our eyes are breathtaking. The kaleidoscopic change of events in international relations brings to the forefront the need for prompt but profound analytics capable of outlining in a few strokes the main problems of contemporary international security. The idea underlying the annually published review is to select and analyze in-depth the most relevant and pressing areas: both problematic issues of global importance and the security situation in various regions of the world.

The authors of the current review – employees of IMEMO and MGIMO University – turned to such topics as maintaining strategic stability and the growth of Chinese strategic forces, the deepening security crisis on the European continent, conflict-prone areas of the Asia-Pacific region, the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, and the growing role of new technologies in military affairs (cybersecurity of space systems).
