On 28 September 2014 Dr Ekaterina Stepanova, Head of IMEMO's Peace and Conflict Studies Unit made a presentation on "The nexus of drugs, criminality, terrorism and corruption" at the Herat Security Dialogue in Herat (Afghanistan) organized by the Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS).
