Dear friends!

I sincerely congratulate scientists and everyone involved in the field of research and development on the Day of Russian Science!

Thank you for your energy and wisdom, for the courage of scientific research, for believing in your true vocation. And first of all, for the results you achieve.

We are justifiably proud of the unique discoveries of Russian scientists. Our compatriots significantly have overturned the ideas about the world and the Universe by creating a periodic system of chemical elements, by building the first atomic reactor, and by discovering the law of conservation of the mass. We made the first manned flight into space, we were the first to launch an artificial satellite into low Earth orbit.

Science has always been something more than a scope for our country. For Russian Federation, science is a national pride, our common culture, a state of mind. Science is the love of life in its best form, it is the love of truth.

The previous year we have lived under the banner of the Year of Science and Technology. I am sure, in this time science has become closer to every citizen of the country and has reached every settlement. And it is especially important, as the development of Russian regions is possible only with science.

One of the key conditions for the well-being and high quality of life of people throughout our country is the increase of the innovative potential of the Russian regions. Science should not be concentrated in the capitals. Young people should have the opportunity to realize their scientific talent at home.

Our young scientists bravely step into the unknown, as they have a strong support of the best traditions of the Russian scientific school and of the wise mentors.

Always remember that you are the descendants of a whole realm of scientists, whose names the entire world knows and remembers. Each of you is able to give science much more than you think! You are changing the present and building the future. We believe in you!
