The first presentation issue of the "Monitor of Foreign Expertise"

We present to your attention the first presentation issue of the "Monitor of Foreign Expertise", timed to coincide with the XI International Scientific and Expert Forum "Primakov Readings".

The new IMEMO project is intended, rather, for informed readers – colleagues in research institutes and higher education institutions, as well as ministries and departments, decision-making bodies on foreign policy and security policy of the Russian Federation.

The work is based on an analytical approach. Elements of new concepts and strategies have been identified, indicating similarities ùê differences in the approaches of leading players.

The goal of the "Monitor" is to analyze publications of "think tanks" and individual experts who directly or indirectly influence decision-making in foreign countries.

The tasks to be solved:

  • • informing the readers about the discussed problems, ideas, initiatives and semantic accents of foreign expertise;
  • • analysis of authoritative opinions on current issues;
  • • identification of new research areas.

The Monitor focuses on the most important issues of global policy and security. This issue proposed to your attention examines foreign expert opinion on the following issues:

  • • policy towards Russia and the conflict in Ukraine;
  • • approaches of external players in the post-Soviet space;
  • • evolution of transatlantic relations;
  • • problems of "strategic autonomy" of Europe, including the policies of its leaders;
  • • issues of interaction with China;
  • • new challenges and threats in the sphere of security, arms control;
  • • new role of the United States in the Middle East: a view from the region.

In January of 2026 the first issue of the MEMO Journal comes out. It opens with an article on the theory and prospects of the global dominance of the U.S. dollar. Economic topics are widely represented on the pages of the issue with materials on the problems of national economies and economic policy of major world and regional powers – the United States, Japan, and Pakistan.
