25On January 24, 2022, Head of the Group of Information Security Problems of the Center for International Security of IMEMO Cand. of Science (Politics) Natalia Romashkina made a report “Threats of Deep Fake Technology in the Political Sphere” at the periodic Roundtable on Military Cyber Stability (RMCS), held via Zoom-conference by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The roundtable provides an opportunity for speakers from the United States, Russia and China to discuss the issues of military cyber stability in modern military-political relations resulting from the cyber operations, the electronic warfare or the information campaigns. It is a platform, where leaders from academic community, think tanks, industries and governments present their current observations to the expert audiences from the major powers.
The aim of the Roundtable on Military Cyber Stability is to define and to implement a multi-country research program on military cyber stability. In the framework of the study there are being developed the multidisciplinary and the cross-cultural analytical frames for understanding military cyberstability and are being proposed the practical steps to improve stability and the strengthening of the international security architecture in order to reduce cyber risks to international peace and security.
