18Deputy Director of the IMEMO, Dr. Vladimir Milovidov took part in the online conference “The Financial Market 2022. The new goals in the new reality” on February 15, 2022.
The event was organized by the Publishing House “Kommersant”.
The year 2021 was the year of the recovery after the initial effects of the pandemic and of the activation of the financial and economic life in a new reality, which will obviously last for a long time. The recovery periods are still replaced by restrictions and lockdowns of various degrees of severity and duration. Strengthening of the regulatory policy is added to the macroeconomic volatility.
The following issues were discussed at the first session called “The new realities of the financial market”:
- the key directions for the development of the financial market in the year 2022;
- the new regulations of the activities of the investors;
- the relevance of the division of the investors into qualified and unqualified in the current market situation, the advantages of such division;
- the aims and the consequences of the introduction of the regulator of testing to obtain the status of a qualified investor: the “USE” for investors as a way to protect novice market participants or as an attempt to cool down the private investment market, which has skyrocketed since the pandemic;
- the stock exchange as a trade platform and as an ecosystem for the investors;
- the development of the infrastructure for the sustainable development financing market, introduction of "green" instruments to the market.
The following issues were discussed at the second session called “The outcomes and the prospects”:
- the macroeconomic review of the past year and the forecast for the year 2022;
- the expectations, the risks and the prospects for the commodities, for the raw materials and for the foreign exchange markets in the year 2022;
- the most stable financial instruments in the current conditions, the creation of the correct financial strategy.
