On October 9-11, 2024 the District Strategic Session on the Formation and Strengthening of the All-Russian Civil Identity of the Youth of the Far Eastern Federal District was held at the Sholem-Aleichem Priamursky State University (Birobidzhan, Jewish Autonomous Region). The session was attended by heads and teachers of educational organizations, employees of research centers, representatives of regional government bodies, regional media from the Far Eastern regions of the Russian Federation and Moscow. The priorities and practices of the formation of civic identity of youth people, taking into account the regional characteristics of the Far East were discussed.

On October 10 at the Plenary Session “Constructing of Civil and Regional Identity” the report “The Phenomenon of Identity: Meanings and Values” was delivered by Irina Semenenko, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of IMEMO, Dr. of Sciences (Politics). The presentation raised questions about the correlation between civil and territorial identities, about promising directions and specific mechanisms of identity policy in the region. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for the formation of ecological identity and the development of new directions of cultural policy, combining cultural traditions and social innovations, which is especially relevant for the involvement of young people in the development policy of the region. Effective practices and opportunities to realize the creative potential of young people in the development of the Far East were analyzed.
