
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov and Acting Director of IMEMO Feodor Voitolovsky took part in the All-Institute Seminar of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research held in Dubna on October 19, 2023.
During the event, a ceremony of signing by Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research Academician Grigory Trubnikov and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Feodor Voitolovsky of the Agreement on Cooperation between IMEMO and JINR was held.
It is planned to hold joint interdisciplinary scientific events and interaction between the two organizations in the field of development of international scientific and technological cooperation.
The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is an international intergovernmental organization established on the basis of the Agreement signed by the eleven founding countries on 26 March 1956 and registered by the UN on 1 February 1957. Currently, 16 states are members of JINR, with 5 countries cooperating in the format of associated membership.
Sergey Ryabkov and Feodor Voitolovsky visited the NICA superconducting protons and heavy ions collider which is under construction at the Vladimir Veksler and Alexander Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, as well as the existing facilities of the Institute.
