The scientific conference “The political consequences of the Coronavirus Pandemic in Europe” was held at the Russian State University for the Humanities on April 27, 2022. The experts from the RSUH, the MGIMO, the Institute of Europe of the RAS and the Institute of Slavic Studies of the RAS took part in the meeting.
The following state-themed reports were made by the staff-members of the IMEMO:
- “The Netherlands after the pandemic: whether the authorities managed to preserve the credibility” by Head of the Section of the EU Studies, Cand. of Science (Economics) Anastasia Nevskaya;
- “The impact of the pandemic on the internal political life of France” by Head of the Section for Regional Issues and Conflicts, Cand. of Science (Politics) Pavel Timofeev;
- “From the presidential elections to the Polexit: the consequences of the pandemic in the domestic and the foreign policy of Poland” by Research Fellow for the Section for Regional Issues and Conflicts, Cand. of Science (History) Maria Pavlova;
- “The dilemma of the legal state during the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden and Denmark” by Junior Research Fellow for the Section for Regional Issues and Conflicts, postgraduate student Nikita Belukhin;
- “The evolution of Spanish political institutions in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic” by Junior Research Fellow for the Center for European Studies, postgraduate student Kirill Nikulin.
Head of the Section for Regional Issues and Conflicts, Cand. of Science (Politics) Pavel Timofeev also moderated the Section 2. The political consequences of the coronavirus pandemic in Eastern Europe and the EU energy transition.
