The preface to the Chinese edition states: "The South Caucasus region, including Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia, is located at the crossroads of Eurasia and has a unique geostrategic significance. The book "States of the South Caucasus in the Context of International Politics" by the well-known Russian expert on Caucasus issues Alexander Krylov comprehensively covers the development trajectory of the three South Caucasus countries since the collapse of the Soviet Union and their changing relationships with major powers. It examines the numerous challenges and opportunities facing the three South Caucasus countries in their state-building and development amid a century of change. The book also includes the translator's research on the "derussification" of the Caucasus countries, population decline in border regions, transnational ethnic groups, and foreign policy in the context of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, providing readers with a deeper understanding and research. Combining academic depth with practical relevance, this book serves as a professional reference for international relations researchers, regional experts, and readers interested in the history, culture, and contemporary politics of the Caucasus.
