On October 3, 2022 the Center for Middle East Studies held its next Georgy Mirsky Middle East Seminar. The theme of the seminar was "Political-Legal Controversies in the Eastern Mediterranean”

Pavel Gudev, Head of the Group of US and Canada World Ocean Policy Research at the Center for North American Studies at IMEMO, Cand. of Science (History), spoke at the seminar.

The event included a presentation of a collective monograph, "The Struggle for the Eastern Mediterranean: Interests and Ambitions”. 

The legal, military-political and economic aspects of international relations in the Eastern Mediterranean region, where Europe, the Middle East and North Africa intersect, were discussed.
