On February 5, 2026, the Center for North American Studies of IMEMO held the annual Inter-Institutional Seminar named after Eduard Batalov on the topic "American Democracy: 250 Years of Transformation" in the Academician Inozemtsev Conference Hall (3rd floor).
This year, the discussions focused on the profound changes that have occurred in the United States since its formation: in the political process, society, the forms of implementation of participation in the international arena.
The seminar was addressed by employees of the Center for North American Studies, the Center for Strategic Planning Studies, and leading American studies experts from the Institute for the US and Canada Studies, the Institute of Oriental Studies, MGIMO University and HSE University.
