International Symposium on Trans-Pacific Security and Cooperation Architecture was held in Beijing on October 28-29, 2014, hosted by the Chinese Academy of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) with cooperation from IMEMO and The Ford Foundation. Discussion, which centered on security problems in East and Northeast Asia as well in Asia-Pacific at large was preceded by presentation of a joint report prepared by experts from CICIR and IMEMO. The report reviews major trends shaping future security cooperation architecture in the region.
The IMEMO delegation at the symposium was headed by President A. Dynkin. IMEMO Vice-President V. Mikheev was a co-speaker at the session “Feasibilities and Approaches of Trans-Pacific Security and Cooperation Architecture”.
The Chinese side was represented by a team of CICIR scholars headed by President Ji Zhiye with numerous guests from other Chinese research and other institutions.
