A group of stuff-members of the IMEMO made reports at the international seminar «COVID-19 Pandemic: A New Security Agenda for European Societies» on September 30, 2020. The event was organized by the Kuban State University in the framework of the international project Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Network «Peace, War and the World in European Security Challenges». The conference was held online on the basis of the KubSU platform. The working language was English. The new challenges, which the united Europe has faced in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the processes of looking for the possible solutions to them were the key points of the exchange of views. The seminar brought together about a hundred participants. They were the researchers, the lecturers and the students from a number of the leading Russian (from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Perm, Yaroslavl, Astrakhan, Krasnodar) and from the foreign universities (Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Jordan).
Irina Semenenko dedicated her report to the new challenges of the social solidarity, which have emerged in the context of the coronavirus crisis. There was noted the acute deficit of solidarity at the international level. There were analyzed the new problems, which the international organizations, the scientific and the expert community have faced in the development of the cooperation in countering the epidemic crisis.
Irina Prokhorenko made a report about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the model of the nation state in Spain. In her speech she pointed out that the coronavirus crisis became a trigger-system factor, which has revealed the systemic weaknesses of both the model of the socio-economic development of the country and the Spanish “state of autonomies”.
Sergey Arteev made a report on the redistribution of powers between the different levels of government in the EU in the context of the coronavirus crisis.
Alexey Zenkov in his speech analyzed the main difficulties, faced by everyone involved in the educational process in the context of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Andrey Bardin focused on the problems of the development of creative industries during the coronavirus crisis.
