International Scientific Conference "Stable Development of the Eurasian Space: Challenges, Threats, Prospects"

On November 29, 2023, the International Scientific Conference "Stable Development of the Eurasian Space: Challenges, Threats, Prospects" was held on the margins of the IX International Forum "Primakov Readings" in the National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations with the participation of 52 Russian and foreign experts, including 27 representatives of leading analytical and educational centers of post-Soviet Eurasia.

Feodor Voitolovsky, Director of IMEMO, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech.

The conference focused on the main trends of economic and political processes in the CIS countries. Russian and foreign researchers analyzed the impact of global political and economic dynamics on the post-Soviet space. Considerable attention was paid to the problems of socio-economic development and stimulation of economic growth under the sanctions pressure of Western countries. The focus of attention was on the conflict dynamics in the region, specifics of political processes, foreign policy guidelines of different countries of post-Soviet Eurasia, political and economic activity of extra-regional actors. A serious emphasis was placed on the study of a wide range of issues related to the development of integration processes in the Eurasian space. The conference participants also assessed existing and emerging security challenges and threats.
