81On December 13-14, 2023, at 11:00 at IMEMO (23, Profsoyuznaya Str., in the Academician Inozemtsev conference hall, 3rd floor) the II International Scientific and Practical Conference "World Ocean – a Space for Cooperation and Competition" dedicated to the memory of Fleet Admiral of the Soviet Union Sergey Gorshkov will be held.
The theme of the conference is "Eurasia in the Ring of Seas"
The participants will discuss current issues of maritime security, problems of international maritime law, development of the "blue economy" and the extraction of marine resources. Researchers from Russia, China, India, a number of South and Southeast Asian states and other regions of the world are expected to participate.
This is the first scientific and practical event in Russia dedicated to the comprehensive study of the history and modernity of international economic and political processes related to the development of resources and spaces of the World Ocean. The conference is being held every two years, the first one took place in 2021.
The event will be held in a mixed format. Working languages: Russian and English.
