55On June 7, 2024, on the margins of the 10th International Scientific and Expert Forum "Primakov Readings", Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences hosted an International Scientific Conference "Eurasia in a New International Context: Economy, Politics, Security" with the participation of 50 Russian and foreign experts, including 22 representatives of leading analytical and educational centers of post-Soviet Eurasia.
Feodor Voitolovsky, Director of IMEMO, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech.
The conference analyzed the key trends of economic and political processes in the CIS countries. Russian and foreign researchers examined in detail the features of the development of national economies in the context of transformation of world politics and economy, issues of socio-economic development and stimulation of economic growth in the conditions of sanctions pressure from Western countries, trends in the transformation of transport and logistics infrastructure in post-Soviet Eurasia.
The discussions focused on the specifics of political processes, foreign policy guidelines of post-Soviet Eurasian states, and political and economic activity of extra-regional actors. A significant emphasis was placed on the study of issues related to trends and prospects for the development of integration processes in the Eurasian space.
The speeches of the conference participants also assessed existing and emerging security challenges and threats.
At the end of the Conference, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Director of IMEMO Feodor Voitolovsky and Director of the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan (IACMO) Sanjar Valiev took place.
