International conference “Central and South Asia: the regional connectivity. The challenges and the prospects”

Specialists from the IMEMO RAS took part in the international conference “Central and South Asia: the regional connectivity. The challenges and the prospects”, which was held in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan. The delegation of the Institute consisted of Director of the IMEMO, Corresponding Member of the RAS Feodor Voitolovsky; Deputy Director for Scientific Work, Corresponding Member of the RAS Sergey Afontsev; Head of the Center for Middle East Studies, Dr. of Science (History) Irina Zvyagelskaya and Senior Researcher for the Section for Central Asia of the Center for post-Soviet Studies Cand. of Science (History) Stanislav Pritchin.

The conference is aimed to form political and expert platform for the multilateral discussion of the model of the mutually beneficial strategic link "Central Asia – South Asia" in transport, logistics, energy, trade, production, investment, technological, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Feodor Voitolovsky made report “The systematic security risks of Central Asia” in the framework of the third section of the conference called “Regional Security. The challenges and the threats”.
