International Conference of Analytical Centers of CIS Countries

On September 26, 2024, the International Conference of Analytical Centers of the Commonwealth of Independent States “New Agenda for Long-Term Cooperation” was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent.

The purpose of the conference was to deeply analyze the processes in the Commonwealth, explore prospects and unrealized opportunities, as well as jointly assess potential risks to sustainable development.

Academician Alexander Dynkin, President of IMEMO, spoke at Session I “CIS – a Space for Dialogue and Cooperation in New Conditions”. He expressed the opinion that deepening economic integration between the CIS countries could lead to the creation of a more powerful domestic market, which would increase trade volume and attract investment.

Ivan Danilin, Deputy Director of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Politics), spoke at Session II “Prospects for the Development of Economic Cooperation and ‘Green Transition’ (Industrial Cooperation, Trade, Transportation, Energy and Food Security)”

Eduard Solovyev, Head of the Center for post-Soviet Studies, Cand. of Science (Politics), also took part in the conference.

The experts discussed the state and prospects of mutual cooperation in trade and economic, humanitarian, social, scientific and technical, environmental spheres, etc.

On January 13, 2024, “Interfax” news agency published an article about the next IMEMO annual forecast “Russia and the World” for the current year 2025. The main conclusion the scientists come to is that the “factor-2025” will be the increasing uncertainty of the near future in almost all areas of world politics and economy since the beginning of the year.
