International Annual Scientific Conference "Lomonosov Readings" at Moscow State University

International Annual Scientific conference "Lomonosov Readings" – "The New Economic Reality: Structural and Regional Aspects" – is taking place at the Faculty of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University on April 11-13, 2023.

On April 12, 2023 employees of the Center for Comparative Socio-Economic and Political Studies of IMEMO took part in the work of the conference thematic area "Man and Labor: Evolution of Approaches to Study, Development and Management".

Within the framework of the session "Transformation of the Labor Market and Social and Labor Relations in Modern Conditions" (moderated by the Head of the department of Complex Socio-Economic Research of the Center for Comparative Socio-Economic and Political Studies, Cand. of Science (Economics), Associate Professor Elena Sadovaya), the report on the topic "Ageism in the Labor Market in Russia and Foreign Countries" was presented by Senior Researcher, Cand. of Science (Economics), Associate Professor Evgeniya Sindyashkina. The report examined various aspects of the manifestation of ageism in modern society, including economically developed and developing countries. The main attention was paid to the position and role of older workers in the labor market, peculiarities of employment of these age groups; an analysis of wage distribution by age and occupational groups in Russia and in the EU countries was presented. In conclusion, the author dwelled on the possible trends of ageism in the cotext of population ageing and transformation of the social and labor sphere.

The presentation by Ilya Udovenko, Senior Researcher, Cand. of Science (Pedagogics) on the topic "Social Partnership and Public Administration Ecosystem" was devoted to the issues of digital transformation of public administration. The author presented a brief analysis of the principles and priorities for the development of public administration ecosystems, which are used to aggregate information about the citizens and organizations of both individual countries and groups of countries implementing integration projects, and outlined the resulting limitations for the implementation of effective socio-economic policy. One of these limitations is the increasing asymmetry of information, which prevents the parties of social partnership from coordinating their efforts to solve the problems of increasing labor productivity and developing comprehensive social protection of workers.

Kseniia Subkhangulova, Research Fellow, Cand. of Science (Economics), made the report on the topic "Family Policy in Western Europe: a Migration Perspective". The author analyzed the key socio-demographic indicators of Western European countries, highlighted the opportunities and limitations of national family policy in relation to migrants. The speaker drew attention to the fact that despite the relatively favorable social policy for foreigners, which provides, at least, basic guarantees, the demographic processes in the countries under consideration still not only do not ensure full replacement of generations, but also create new socio-demographic challenges.

The session "Development of Human Potential in the Context of Digitalization" included a presentation on the topic "Prospects for Development of the Russian Professional Training System: the Eurasian Vector" by Alexey Zenkov, Senior Researcher, Cand. of Science (Politics). He analyzed the main reasons and prerequisites that led to the necessity of "reloading" the educational policy pursued in Russia, including the external contour of this direction of activity. Choosing the Eurasian direction as the near frontier of development, the author outlined the existing mechanisms for cooperation of the EAEU countries in education and science, conjunctural and systemic barriers to integration, and assessed the prospects for overcoming them. Special attention was paid to the study of the promising cooperation projects (convergence of scientific and educational policy and ongoing economic programs; development of digital cooperation networks and technological platforms; possibilities of including scientific and educational component in maintenance and implementation of infrastructure projects) that can, according to the author, not only bring the scientific and educational cooperation of EAEU states to a new level, but also give a powerful impulse to the entire Eurasian integration project in the near and more distant future.
