The meeting was attended by Feodor Voitolovsky, Director of IMEMO, Alexey Kupriyanov, Head of the Center of the Indo-Pacific Region, and Peter Topyckanov, Head of the Sector for New Challenges in South and Southeast Asia.

The participants of the meeting discussed a wide range of issues, including foreign policy priorities of Russia and Pakistan, prospects for development of political-economic relations, as well as opportunities to expand scientific ties between the two countries. Pakistani diplomats were presented with the latest monographs prepared by the Center of the Indo-Pacific Region – «Social and Economic Development of the Great Indian Ocean Region» and «Great Indian Ocean: Security Problems».

Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi presented a Russian translation of the works of the famous Pakistani poet Faiza Ahmad Faiza.
