On September 26, 2024, a meeting with scientists from the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IREECAS CASS) was held at IMEMO. 

The Chinese delegation was headed by Jin Zhe, Deputy Director of IREECAS CASS. The meeting was attended by Zhao Huizhong, head of the Department for Ukraine Studies of IREECAS, Zhang Yanlu and Wang Chao, Research Fellows of the Department for Ukraine Studies, and Sun Yixue, an employee of the IREECAS Research Bureau.

The Russian side was represented by IMEMO researchers Dr. of Science (History), Professor Alexander Lomanov, Dr. of Science (Politics) Dina Malysheva, Cand. of Science (Economics) Anna Chetverikova, Cand. of Science (Economics) Sergey Lukonin, Cand. of Science (Politics) Elena Kuzmina, Cand. of Science (Economics) Leonid Gamza, and Senior Research Assistant A. Yakovlev.

The main topics of the conversation were the priority areas of cooperation between Russia and Belarus, the place of the Central Asian republics in Russian policy, the presence of the EU and the USA in the post-Soviet space. Scientists from IMEMO and IREECAS discussed the situation in Ukraine and the prospects for the upcoming presidential elections in Belarus and Moldova.
