Meeting with a group of students, postdocs and teachers of the the University of Edinburgh

On July 4, 2019, the Council of Young Scientists of IMEMO held a meeting with a group of students, postdocs and teachers of the the University of Edinburgh (School of Economics).

The Deputy Director of IMEMO Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dr. Irina Semenenko. In her speech, she highlighted the main milestones in the history of IMEMO, its modern mission, structure, tasks and areas of research. The meeting was attended by members of the Council of Young Scientists of IMEMO who spoke about their scientific work and answered questions from the colleagues from the University of Edinburgh.

The meeting participants discussed such issues as interaction between Russia and the post-Soviet states, problems of demography and migration in the post-Soviet space, issues of economic growth and innovative development of Russia, the role of foreign capital in the Russian economy, the investment attractiveness of the Russian economy and the entrepreneurial potential of its people, Russia – United States relations, sanctions war. Employees of IMEMO A. Borisova, Z. Mamedyarov, A. Polivach, N. Rabotyazhev, A. Nevskaya, F. Bakhadirov, E. Zhilina, A. Zenkov, M. Sigachev, S. Arteev took part in the discussion.
