2240On 7-8 November 2017, IMEMO hosted a meeting of the Committees on International Security and Arms Control (CISAC) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and U.S. National Academy of Sciences (NAS).
The Russian participants included IMEMO Acting Director Corresponding Member of RAS Feodor Voitolovsky, Head of the IMEMO Center for International Security (CIS) Academician Alexey Arbatov, CIS Senior Researcher Dr. Vladimir Dvorkin, Head of CIS Division Dr. Sergey Oznobishchev, CIS Senior Researcher Dr. Anatoly Diakov, Leading Researcher of the Institute for the US and Canadian Studies Dr. Victor Esin, Academician Mikhail Marov, Academician Boris Myasoedov, Academician Sergey Rogov, Corresponding Members of RAS Stepan Kalmykov and Igor Sheremet, Deputy Head of the External Relations Department of RAS Yury Shiyan, and other representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The U.S. delegation chaired by Ambassador Linton F. Brooks included Dr. Steven Fetter, Dr. Rita S. Guenther, Dr. Raymond Jeanloz, Mr. Micah Lowenthal, Mr. Douglas L. Loverro, and Dr. James Timbie.
The participants discussed a wide range of issues related to strategic stability, as well as Russian and U.S. approaches to full-scope strategic stability.
