
Marianna Evdotyeva took part in the international conference Science, Peace and Security’2 “The impact of new technologies: Destabilizing or enabling resilience?”, organized by the Aachen University, the German Foundation for Peace Research (Deutsche Stiftung Friedensforschung, DSF), the German Research Association for Science, Disarmament and International Security (FONAS) and the Nuclear Notification and Disarmament Organization. The meeting was dedicated to the impact of the new technologies on security.
The interdisciplinary conference was devoted to the study of the impact of the new technologies on security. There were considered the nuclear, the biological, the chemical and the space security threats as well as the development of the information technologies, the cyber security issues, the autonomous weapons systems, the development of artificial intelligence and a number of other issues.
Marianna Evdotyeva made a report “Control of unmanned systems: current state and development” in the framework of the session of the conference called “Deconstructing Autonomous Weapon Systems: Drivers, Narratives, Perceptions”. It was focused on the issue of export control of unmanned systems and UAVs and on the discussions of the limitation of the lethal autonomous weapon systems within the framework of the United Nations Convention on "Inhumane" weapons (CCW).
