The Annual Scientific Conference “Lomonosov Readings” on the topic “The Science and the Art of the Economic Policy in the conditions of crisis” was held at the MSU Faculty of Economics on April 20, 2022.

Staff members of the Center for Comparative Socio-Economic and Political Studies of the IMEMO took part in the work of the thematic direction of the conference “Man and Labor: Evolution of Approaches to Study, Development and Management”.

Senior Researcher Cand. of Science (Economics) Eugenia Sindyashkina made a report “Active labor market policy in the states of the EU in the context of the new challenges”. In the speech, she analyzed a set of active programs, implemented in the labor market in the EU states, including those for training and retraining the unemployed, for subsidizing employment, for stimulating the creation of the new businesses, and some others. The author paid particular attention to the peculiarities of the implementation of the state policy in the labor market in the states with the developed market economies and in the post-socialist states. She concluded by focusing the attention on the prospects for labor market policy in the states of the EU in the context of the new challenges.

The report “Corporate social policy in the context of the digital transformation” by Senior Researcher Ilya Udovenko was dedicated to the study of the prerequisites for the emergence of the new social imbalances. The author drew the attention of the participants of the conference to the fact that the staff members of large corporations can receive a wide range of benefits, which are not taken into account when providing targeted state social support. Such situation accelerates social inequality due to the differences in the nature of employment in conditions of the digital transformation of the economy and public administration in a number of states.

In the report called “The Russian vocational education is under the pressure of the sanctions: the risks and the development prospects” Senior Researcher Cand. of Science (Politics) Alexey Zenkov examined the features of the work of Russian educational institutions in the context of the emerging crisis. The author analyzed the key fields of the imposed restrictions, characterized the main types of them as well as their consequences. In conclusion, the speaker drew attention to the fact that, the restrictions imposed by the Western countries along with certain difficulties open up the new opportunities for the entire system of domestic education. Now Russia has a good chance to strengthen integration links with friendly partner-countries through the educational cooperation, to upgrade the current personnel training system, so that it meets, first of all, the national interests of the society and the state.
