Roundtable "Serbia between East and West"

On April 15, 2024, Polina Sokolova, Research Fellow of the Sector for Regional Issues and Conflicts of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Politics), participated in a Roundtable on the challenges facing Serbia's foreign policy today in the light of its relations with Eastern partners, such as Moscow and Beijing, and Western partners, such as Brussels and Washington.

The experts examined such problematic subjects for the current Serbian leadership as the upcoming vote at a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the membership of the self-proclaimed republic of Kosovo in the Council of Europe, the attempts of some countries to recognize the events in Srebrenica in 1995 as genocide within the framework of the UN, the ever-growing pressure on Belgrade from the West, as well as a number of other issues.
