On October 17, 2023 at 15:00 at the International Multimedia Press Center "Russia Today" a Roundtable on US Internal and Foreign Policy against the Backdrop of Global Cataclysms was held.

The beginning of October was marked not only by a severe escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, but also by the aggravation of serious contradictions within the United States. Due to internal political fragmentation, Washington is unable to develop a coherent response to the challenges of global security, and its actions only strengthen the existing conflict potential in various regions of the world.

The political crisis in the US House of Representatives, a split within the Republican Party, the falling rating of President Joe Biden, who seeks to stay in the White House for another term, and accusations against him of foreign policy miscalculations from ex-President Donald Trump, a potential Republican presidential candidate – this is how America appears to the world today.

How do internal political squabbles affect US foreign policy, its relations with NATO allies, the situation within the country, the US economy, and the well-being of its citizens? What does the US strategy towards Russia and China look like? What steps will the US administration take to resolve the situation in the Middle East?
