Roundtable “On the 35th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall: has the European Security System been Established?”

On November 8, 2024, Maria Khorolskaya, Research Fellow of the Department for European Political Studies of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Politics), took part in the Expert Roundtable “On the 35th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall: has the European Security System been Established?” organized by the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) at the press center of “Izvestia” Multimedia Information Center.

November 9 marks the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The Roundtable participants discussed the historical legacy and Russia and Germany’s current relationship, as well as the crisis of the European security system.

The Roundtable was also attended by:

  • •    Andrey Kortunov, Academic Director of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC);
  • •    Alexey Filitov, Chief Research Fellow of the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences;
  • •    Vladislav Belov, Deputy Director, Head of the Department of Country Studies, Head of the Center for German Studies of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
