15Research Fellow for the Center for International Security of the IMEMO Dmitry Stefanovich and Head of the Section for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine of the Center for post-Soviet Studies, Cand.of Science (Politics) Elena Kuzmina made reports at the international roundtable conference “The Eurasian Economic Union: The Tracks of the Development in the year 2022” on January 24, 2022.
In the report called “Military security of the Eurasian space in the year 2022”, Dmitry Stefanovich referred to the security threats in the West, East and South of the Eurasian space, with particular emphasis on the new status of the CSTO after the events, took place in Kazakhstan in the beginning of the year 2022.
Elena Kuzmina focused her report “The consequences of the pandemic for the economies of the EAEU” on the discussion of the outcomes of economic development and cooperation between the EAEU states in the year 2021 and of the the problems and the opportunities for the development of national economies in the year 2022. Those are the consequences of the pandemic, the transition to energy neutrality and sanctions pressure on Russia, Belarus and, in the future, possibly, on Kazakhstan.
