On October 22, 2024, a Roundtable meeting on “Actual Problems of International Security”, organized by the Center for International Security, was held at IMEMO.
The event was opened by Academician Alexey Arbatov, Head of the Center for International Security, who timed the scientific event to the publication of the collective monograph “International Security: New World Order and Technological Revolution”.
The responsible editors of the scientific publication addressed the participants with opening remarks:
- • Konstantin Bogdanov, Head of the Strategic Analysis and Forecasting Sector of the Center for International Security, Cand. of Science (Technology);
- • Marianna Yevtodyeva, Head of the Group of Military and Economic Globalization Processes of the Center for International Security, Cand. of Science (Politics);
- • Olga Gusarova, Head of the Center for Scientific and Educational Projects.
They noted the interdisciplinary and comprehensive nature of the conducted research and emphasized its relevance in the current international political environment.
The Roundtable was moderated by Sergey Oznobishchev, Head of the Sector of Military-Political Analysis and Research Projects of the Center for International Security, Cand. of Science (History).

- • Stanislav Ivanov, Lead Researcher of the Center for International Security of IMEMO. Report topic: “New Crisis in the Middle East”;
- • Alexander Nikitin, Chief Research Fellow of the Center for International Security of IMEMO. Report topic: “Conflict Potential of the Asia-Pacific Region”.
The Round table was attended by IMEMO employees, invited experts from the Institute for the US and Canada Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, HSE University, the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and media representatives.
