On December 21, 2023, the Center for Applied History of the Institute of Social Sciences of RANEPA within the framework of the project of the Human Capital Multidisciplinary Research Center held an open-talk conference "Political Forces and the Youth Electorate: In Search of a New Language of Communication".

The participants of the event compared different practices of interaction between political forces and the youth electorate in European countries (France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Russia), discussed the main problems faced by young people in Europe, analyzed examples of using modern political technologies to attract the attention of the youth electorate. The speakers were researchers from the Center for Applied History of the Institute of Social Sciences of RANEPA, MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and IMEMO.

From IMEMO their reports presented Pavel Timofeev, Head of the Sector for Regional Issues and Conflicts of the Department for European Political Studies, Cand. of Science (Politics), – "From Hologram to Tik Tok: French Politicians in the Struggle for Youth in the Presidential Elections of 2022" and Maria Shpak, Senior Research Assistant of the Sector of International Organizations and Global Political Regulation of the Department of International Political Problems, – "Political Elites and Youth in Spain in Search of a 'Common' Language".
