Conference “Parliamentary Elections in Britain in 2024. The First Steps of the Government of Keir Starmer”

On October 9, 2024, IMEMO researchers took part in the All-Russian Scientific Conference “Parliamentary Elections in Britain in 2024. The First Steps of the Government of Keir Starmer”, organized by the Center for British Studies of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The conference was opened by Alexey Gromyko, Director of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

  • Inna Podkolzina, Senior Researcher of the Center for European Studies of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Economics), delivered a report “Economic Policy of the Labor Cabinet of Keir Starmer”;
  • Elena Kharitonova, Senior Researcher of the Center for European Studies of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Politics), presented a report “Foreign Students in British Universities: Challenges for the Government of Keir Starmer”;
  • the speech of Alexander Aleshin, Senior Researcher of the Department of International Political Problems of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Politics), was devoted to the topic “Objective and Subjective in the Anti-Russian Policy of Great Britain”.

The conference was attended by specialists from the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, IMEMO and representatives of leading Russian universities.
