Conference "Crisis and Global Transformation: China and Russia Facing the Challenges of a Changing World Order"

On November 16-17, 2023, Alexey Kupriyanov, Head of the Center of the Indo-Pacific Region, Cand. of Science (History), and Dmitry Stefanovich, Research Fellow of the Center for International Security, participated in the Russian-Chinese conference "Crisis and Global Transformation: China and Russia Facing the Challenges of a Changing World Order" in Shanghai.

The conference was organized by the Valdai International Discussion Club and the Center for Russian Studies of East China Normal University.

On November 16, Dmitry Stefanovich presented a report on the main threats in the sphere of information and communication technologies, including strategic weapons, as well as possible areas of Russian-Chinese scientific and expert cooperation in this area.

On November 17, Alexey Kupriyanov made a report on the peculiarities of globalization and regionalization at the present stage. Special emphasis was placed on a significant degree of conditionality in determining the main trends depending on the definition of the geographical boundaries of the region under study, as well as on the prospects for India-China relations.
