Conference “Europe and Regions of the World: Perspectives for Global Development”

On April 27, 2023 IMEMO employees took part in the conference of the Council of Young Scientists of the Institute of Europe "Europe and Regions of the World: Perspectives for Global Development", timed to the 35th Anniversary of the Institute of Europe and the 30th Anniversary of the European Studies Association.

Presentations were made by:

Alexey Davydov (Research Fellow of the Center for North American Studies, Cand. of Science (Politics), Co-chair of the Council of Young Scientists and specialists of IMEMO). Topic of the report: "Strategic Vectors of US Policy in the Middle East”;

Pavel Timofeev (Head of the Sector for Regional Issues and Conflicts of the Department for European Political Studies; Cand. of Science (Politics), Representative of the Department of Global Problems and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Scientists in the Council of Young Scientists of the Russian Academy of Scientists). Topic of the report: "Problems of PESCO Development after 2020”;

Maria Khorolskaya (Research Fellow of the Department for European Political Studies; Cand. of Science (Politics), Co-chair of the Council of Young Scientists and specialists of IMEMO). Topic of the report: "The Problem of Modernization of the Bundeswehr: Between the German Military-Industrial Complex and American Purchases”.

Young scientists of IMEMO, together with their colleagues from the Department of Global Problems and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences and representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences institutes and Russian universities, warmly congratulated the Institute of Europe on its 35th anniversary and wished further success in cooperation between the Councils of Young Scholars of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
