27On May 18, 2023 the website of the “Izvestia” newspaper published a commentary by Dina Malysheva, Head of the Sector for Central Asia of the Center for post-Soviet Studies, Dr. of Sciences (Politics), on the topic "Xi'an by Itself: how China Welcomes Central Asia”.
On April 16, 2026, a ceremonial meeting of the Academic Council of IMEMO was held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Institute. The event brought together leading Russian scientists, diplomats, representatives of law enforcement agencies and the legislative authorities, with whom the Institute shares many years of collaborative work.
