Final Meeting of IMEMO Council of Young Scientists and Specialists

On December 26, 2023, in the Nikolay Inozemtsev conference hall the Solemn Meeting of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of IMEMO was held. The meeting was devoted to the 20th anniversary of the re-establishment of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists and the election of new leadership.

In the first section, devoted to the anniversary of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, the founders and leaders of the Council in different years Feodor Voitolovsky, Alexey Kuznetsov, Eduard Solovyev and Pavel Timofeev spoke. Academician Alexander Dynkin, President of IMEMO, made a special address to the audience.

The current leadership of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists Alexey Davydov and Maria Khorolskaya presented a report on the work of the Council for the three-year period 2021–2023.

Active members of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists were awarded. 

In the nomination "Best Initiative Conference" – Ivan Shchedrov.

In the nominations "Best Landscaper" and "Best Series of Seminars" – Anastasia Bunina.

In the nomination "Most Creative Headline" according to the voting results:

3rd place "’The Last King of Scotland’, or Colonial Origins of Postcolonial Governmentality in Uganda" by D. Kuvshinov;

2nd place "Fathers and Sons of Midnight": the Origins of the Discourse of Pakistani Elites and its Embodiment" by Gleb Makarevich;

1st place "Pushing the Elephant out of the China Shop: China Enters the Fuel Market of Sri Lanka" by Ivan Shchedrov.

In the nomination "The Most Active Member of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists" according to the voting results: 3rd place – Alina Vernigora, 2nd place – Pavel Timofeev, 1st place – Gleb Makarevich.

Candidates for the position of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists co-chairs Alina Vernigora, Ibragim Ibragimov and Tatiana Khaynatskaya presented the program of the Council's development for 2024–2026.

Afterwards a vote took place, following which Alina Vernigora, Ibragim Ibragimov and Tatiana Khaynatskaya were elected to the position of co-chairs of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists.
