Irina Kobrinskaya made a report at the discussion “Russia and the European Unionin international relations – Common challenges, common interests”, organized by the Foundation for Development and Peace (the FRG). Professor Angela Stent (the USA) and former ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Russian Federation Rüdiger von Fritsch attended the event.

“The international situation is becoming more complex and vague. Governments and societies are in need to find the solutions to various types of global challenges and geopolitical conflicts from the climate change and the current pandemic to the arms control, the cybercrime, the resource conflicts and the refugee movements. To overcome these challenges the relevant international actors must cooperate in a constructive manner. During this meeting, we would like to focus on the external challenges facing both partners without neglecting the differences between the European Union and Russia.”
