
On the 24th of November 2022 within the framework of the X International Scientific Conference of Young Orientalists "East Asia: Past, Present, Future", held in the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of Russian Academy of Sciences, Elsa Shirgazina, Junior Research Fellow of the Group on South Asia and Indian Ocean of the Centre for Asia Pacific Studies, made a presentation "South Asia in China's Foreign Policy Strategy".
The speech was devoted to the strategic interests of China in the region in the context of increasing competition and general tension in international relations. In addition, the main problems underlying the interaction of China with South Asian countries, including historical, territorial, economic, cultural and civilizational factors were identified.
