The Center for the Middle East Studies held a regular Georgy Mirsky Middle East Seminar on the topic "The Middle East and Europe: Problems of Relationship Transformation".

The speakers at the seminar were:

  • Filipp Trunov, Lead Researcher of the Department of Europe and America of INION, Cand. of Science (Politics);
  • Pavel Timofeev, Head of the Sector for Regional Issues and Conflicts of the Department for European Political Studies of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Politics).

The peculiarities of political and military activity of Germany and the EU in the Middle East, as well as the place of the region in the foreign policy course of the European Union in recent years were discussed. Following the presentations, an exchange of views took place between the seminar participants.
